Our Current Projects
See the tools, you can purchase from us, in action!
Bicycles do not have to end up in land fills or scrap metal yards. You can perform the repairs to bring them back to life. Follow our progress in restoring bikes using the tools and accessories you can purchase from us. Our goal is to show the restoration of bicycles rescued from the scrap pile.
The first step in restoring a bicycle is to do a good visual check of the bicycle. You are looking for rusted, bent, or broken components. Look for cosmetic flaws in the frame to determine if you will want it to be recoated, whether with paint or powdercoat. Make a list you can referr to later as you disassemble the bicycle. Now is a good time to order or shop for the parts that will need to replace. Most of the time, if you are restoring an older bicycle, you are going to want to completely dissassemble the bike, inspect, clean, and re-lubricate the pieces. Now is a good time to decide if you have the tools necessary to do the work.
You can follow the first restoration project, a Schwinn Le Tour that has been in a barn for a number of years. To view the project click here.
